A consumer is an individual who has a contractual relationship with a SLASPO member insurer and is not engaging in business or professional activities in connection with a consumer contract, any obligations arising from it, or commercial practices.
You are dissatisfied with the insurance company's decision regarding your claim for insurance benefits.
The insurance company is requesting payment for an overdue insurance premium or another financial obligation.
You can find a complete list of member insurance companies of the Slovak Association of Insurance Companies here.
It's important to first address the issue directly with them. Begin by contacting the insurance company with a request for resolution, such as a claim, complaint, or request for review of their procedure. If the insurance company fails to respond within 30 days or provides a negative response, you may then submit a proposal to us for alternative dispute resolution.
Alternative resolution of consumer disputes does not cover certain types of claims. For example, claims of injured parties for compensation made against an insurance company from compulsory liability insurance for damage caused by the operation of a motor vehicle, or claims from other types of liability insurance. It also does not apply to claims against insurance companies that are not members of the Slovak Association of Insurance Companies, those providing public health insurance, or the Social Insurance Company. Additionally, it does not address claims from business entities.
